Kangoo rough running water sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Renault Kangoo diesel is experiencing rough running and a check engine light, with an error code indicating an issue with the water sensor. The wiring and plug appear intact, but the problem persists. A similar case was resolved by addressing a corroded plug and replacing a short cable section. It is suggested to thoroughly inspect and clean the plug, and if unresolved, seek professional repair.

Good call. Where exactly did you test on the sensor, and what readings were you expecting? I'm not super familiar with sensor testing.

Honestly, I didn't get that deep into it. After fiddling with the plug, I still had the same problem. I ended up taking it to a workshop. Turned out the plug was slightly corroded and causing a bad connection. They cleaned it and replaced a short piece of cable. Problem solved.

Okay, sounds like I'm chasing the right thing then. I'll double-check the plug more thoroughly, but if that doesn't work, I'm off to the shop. Thanks for the heads up! They quoted me 95€ for the repair. I hope it stays at that.

I had a similar issue with my Kangoo. Same symptoms – rough running and the light. Have you tried testing the sensor itself? Maybe a multimeter to check for continuity or voltage?
