Lacetti emergency call system malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Chevrolet Lacetti is experiencing a malfunction in the emergency call system, accompanied by a speedometer error and warning light. The issue may be due to a defective cable or plug connection. Another owner with a similar problem found that a faulty telematics module was the cause. It is recommended to have a professional diagnostic check to confirm the issue and proceed with necessary repairs.

Could you elaborate on the specifics of the telematics issue you experienced? What were the exact symptoms, and what steps did you take to diagnose the problem?

The symptoms were exactly as you described: an error message and warning light related to the emergency call system. I didn't diagnose it myself, but I took it to a workshop, they confirmed the telematics module was faulty. I suggest you do the same, as it might be the same issue. I hope it helps!

I appreciate you sharing your experience. I'll schedule a visit to the workshop for a diagnostic check. They quoted me 95€ for the repair, seems like it's the defective cable or plug connection. Many thanks!

I have a similar issue with my Chevrolet Lacetti. Is the control module affected? Diagnostic codes could offer insight. Has the car safety been compromised? My Lacetti had a similar call failure problem. It turned out to be a telematics issue.
