Lacetti immobilizer issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Chevrolet Lacetti diesel is experiencing starting issues, with the engine cranking but not starting or cutting out immediately. An error code related to the immobilizer is present, and the key symbol flashes on the dashboard. The problem is suspected to be due to incorrect key programming. The suggested solution is to have the key reprogrammed by a professional, which resolved the issue for another owner with a similar problem.

Yeah, the key symbol is flashing. Did you manage to fix it yourself, or did it need specialist attention? Any idea on the cause? Is there a way to bypass the immobilizer temporarily?

Mine needed a trip to the workshop. It turned out the key needed reprogramming. Best get it checked; messing with the immobilizer yourself is risky.

Thanks. I'll take it to get the key reprogrammed. The workshop confirmed it - cost me 45€ and solved the issue.

I had a similar problem with my Lacetti. Same symptoms. The anti-theft system went haywire. Does the key symbol flash on the dash when you try to start it?
