Lacetti overheating issue
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Chevrolet Lacetti diesel with 82,226 km is experiencing engine overheating and intermittent check engine light activation. The suspected cause is a defective radiator fan, possibly due to a faulty speed sensor. Another potential issue could be a thermal switch failure. A professional diagnostic is recommended to accurately identify and resolve the problem.

Thanks. The fan blade seems to rotate okay when I check it. But I don't know if the thermal switch is working right. And how do I test the speed sensor to see if it's good? Can you tell me more about what happened with yours and how you fixed it?

In my case, it seemed like something was wrong inside the fan assembly. It was complicated, and I didn't want to damage the engine, so I went to a technician. A diagnostic is needed.

Thanks, a professional diagnosis is the way to go. I'll book an appointment with a workshop to get it checked out. The repair cost 250€, for those wondering.

I have a Lacetti too. I had a similar problem a while back. Is the fan blade spinning freely? If not, something might be blocking the cooling system. Could also be a thermal switch failure. Is the temperature gauge reading high?
