Lexus LX Headlight Range Control Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Lexus LX is experiencing a headlight range control fault, with the low beams misaligned and a warning light on the dashboard. The issue affects both headlights, suggesting a potential problem with the servomotors rather than the headlight switch or control module. The recommended solution is to have the servomotors diagnosed and replaced by a professional workshop.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! It seems to be affecting both headlights, which makes me wonder if it's something else, like the control module? Is the servomotor hard to get to? I am no expert...

Okay, both sides acting up? Hmm, while it could be the control module, my gut still says servomotors. Think of it like this: the control module is the conductor of an orchestra, and the servomotors are the musicians playing the wrong notes. The conductor might be fine, but the music still sounds awful. As for getting to them...that's where things get tricky. You could try to DIY it, but honestly, messing with the lighting system can be a real pain. Unless you're super confident, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly and replace those little gremlins.

Thanks a lot for the help! Workshop confirmed it's the servomotors, and they're quoting me around 1040€ to replace them. Ouch, but at least I know what the issue is. Appreciate the analogy, it helped me understand it a bit better!

Dude, I had something similar happen on my LX (don't remember the year, sorry). Sounds like the headlight gremlins got to you! Is it like one of those carnival games where the light beam is supposed to hit the target, but it's just flopping around? I'm betting it's the servomotor in the headlight itself. They can be real jerks. Does it happen on both sides, or just one?
