Lexus UX belt handover failure

My 2021 Lexus UX electric is acting up at 115195 km. The belt handover stopped working. I suspect the belt bringer itself is defective. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice before I start spending a lot of money?

A 2021 Lexus UX electric vehicle experienced a belt handover failure at 115,195 km. The suspected cause was a defective belt bringer. After consulting with a professional, it was determined that the belt tensioner was the issue and required replacement, resolving the problem.

Interesting issue! I had similar belt squeal problems with my old Volvo V70. Though it's not electric, maybe there is some carryover in the belt drive design. Is the tensioner pulley looking shaky, or perhaps the idler pulley? How's the timing belt looking?

Thanks, that's actually a super helpful comparison! When you say similar, do you mean a total failure like mine, where it just won't transfer? I hear no squeal, just a complete failure of function.

Yes, indeed. It wasn't immediate, but eventually led to total failure. Given the potential complexity of electric systems, I would suggest consulting with a trusted professional. Could save you headaches.

I appreciate the insight! I went to a workshop, as you suggested. Turns out, the belt tensioner was indeed the culprit and needed replacing. It cost me 455€, but at least it's sorted. Thanks again for the help!
