Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful to know about the injector issue. I've been thinking it might be something similar. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? And has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other problems pop up?
Hey again! Glad I could help! Yes, after my last post, I actually took my Cayenne to the mechanic since the quantity drift compensation reset alone didn't fix the issue. The total bill came to 515€ for replacing the faulty injector, and I've got to say, it was worth every penny! The car's been running absolutely fantastic since the repair. No more power loss, no weird jerking, and the fuel consumption is back to normal. It's like having a new car again! Haven't had a single issue pop up in the months since the fix. If your symptoms are anything like what I experienced, I'd definitely recommend getting it checked out soon. These injector problems can get worse if you leave them too long. My mechanic did a great job, and the peace of mind knowing it's properly fixed is priceless. Let me know if you need any other info! Happy to share more details about my experience.
Update on my Macan situation, I finally bit the bullet and took it to a Porsche specialist yesterday! You were spot on about the injector issue. The mechanic found two faulty injectors that needed replacement. Bill was a bit steeper than yours at around 900€, but what a difference it's made! Picked up the car this morning and it's like driving a completely different vehicle. No more jerking, engine runs smooth as butter, and that annoying check engine light is finally off. Fuel consumption seems to be getting better too, though I'll need a few more days to really tell. Really appreciate everyone's input on this. Sometimes you just need that push to get things properly fixed instead of trying cheaper alternatives. Learned my lesson about going to specialized mechanics for these kinds of issues, definitely worth the extra cost. Thanks again for sharing your experience, it really helped me make the right decision! P.S. The mechanic also mentioned I should consider getting the other injectors checked during the next service, just as preventive maintenance. Might be worth keeping in mind for others with similar models!
Hey there, Those symptoms sound very familiar. Had similar issues with my 2017 Porsche Cayenne Diesel last year at 125k km. Turned out to be a faulty fuel injector. My car was losing power, especially during acceleration, and had that same rough idle you're describing. The fuel consumption went through the roof too. Got it diagnosed at my local Porsche dealer, they found one bad injector that was messing up the fuel delivery. The quantity drift compensation reset didn't solve it for me either. It was quite a serious issue since bad injectors can damage other engine components if left unfixed. The repair involved replacing the defective injector and recalibrating the whole injection system. They also cleaned the other injectors while they were at it. Car's been running smooth as silk since then. Given your symptoms, I'd recommend getting it checked at a Porsche specialist. These modern diesel engines are pretty complex, and you want someone who knows what they're doing. Hope this helps!
