Malibu electrical malfunction navigation failure
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Chevrolet Malibu diesel is experiencing a general electrical malfunction and a non-functional navigation system, with diagnostics indicating an implausible programming of the control unit. The issues began simultaneously, suggesting a potential software-related problem. A suggested solution is to take the vehicle to a workshop for a software refresh or recalibration of the control unit, which may resolve the malfunction.

Yeah, the electrical issues and the navigation going out happened simultaneously. Did you get any specific error codes, or did it all just go haywire at once like mine?

Mine was pretty similar - just all went wrong at once. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They'll probably suggest a software refresh or recalibration of the control unit.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like that's the direction I need to head. I'll get it booked in and hopefully a software refresh will sort it. Appreciate the help!

I had something similar happen in my Malibu. Though, I don't have a diesel engine. Did the electrical issues start happening at the same time as the navigation problem?
