Mark X PCV Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Toyota Mark X is experiencing reduced engine power, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration. Diagnostics suggest a crankcase ventilation valve issue, possibly the PCV valve. A similar case involved a cracked valve causing a vacuum leak, leading to the recommendation of a workshop inspection and potential PCV valve replacement.

Thanks. I did a visual inspection, but didn't hear any hissing. Can you tell me where the leak was on your car?

The valve itself was cracked, causing the leak. Given your symptoms and the mileage, the PCV valve is likely defective. I'd advise a workshop inspection. I had to replace mine and it cost around 360€, including labor.

Thanks. Based on that, I'll schedule an appointment with a mechanic to check the crankcase ventilation system. PCV valve replacement sounds like the most likely fix. Thanks again.

I had a similar problem with my Mark X. Your symptoms mirror my experience. Have you checked for unusual hissing sounds or vacuum leaks around the valve? That's where I started.
