Mercedes CLK Diesel Climate Control Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Mercedes CLK Diesel had a dead climate control panel, low heating output, and non-engaging AC, suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A suggestion was made to check the power supply and fuses related to the climate control system. Upon inspection at a workshop, the issue was identified as a corroded connector on the back of the control panel, which was cleaned and treated, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the tip Where exactly was the temperature sensor located in your Volvo And regarding the power supply, are you referring to the direct power to the control panel or something else in the HVAC system

On the Volvo, it was near the blower motor, a real pain to get to As for the power supply, I meant the direct power to the control panel A weak or intermittent connection there can cause all sorts of weirdness Given your error code and symptoms, it really sounds like a connection issue Honestly, for 95€, it might be worth letting a workshop diagnose it They have the tools to properly check the wiring and connections

Appreciate the insight I checked the power supply and all related connections; everything seemed fine Took it to a workshop and you were right It was a corroded connector on the back of the control panel They cleaned it, applied some dielectric grease, and it's working perfectly now Thanks again for your help

Sounds frustrating I had a similar issue with my old Volvo V70 The whole HVAC system went haywire Turns out, a faulty temperature sensor was sending incorrect readings to the control panel Have you checked the power supply to the climate control unit Also, have you looked at all the fuses related to the climate control and temperature sensor circuit
