ABS? Hmm, I didn't pay too much attention to that specifically. What exactly should I be looking for regarding the ABS system? Is it something obvious?

In my case, the ABS seemed to kick in way too easily, even during normal braking. Honestly, it all happened so fast that I couldn't pinpoint everything going wrong. I strongly suggest getting it checked by a professional. My own issue ended up with the car at the workshop because I really didn't want to gamble with the brake pedal.

Just wanted to update: it was indeed the brake booster pressure sensor. Cost me around 90€, and the brake performance is back to normal. The diagnostic tools at the workshop confirmed it. Thanks for the help!

Oh wow, that sounds like the exact same problem I had on my Cooper as well! I got similar symptoms: the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, and the brake pedal felt really hard to press. Did you notice any difference in the ABS system?
