Moco Fault Code Reduced Power
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Nissan Moco experienced reduced engine power and a fault code was detected, raising concerns about a potential issue with chip tuning. The check engine light was solid, indicating a persistent problem. A similar case suggested that incorrect sensor information might be causing the issue. The solution involved removing the chip tuning and re-flashing the system, which resolved the problem.

The check engine light is solid. What was the fault code that you got? And how did you fix it?

My fault code indicated a problem related to the fuel mixture, probably a sensor sending the wrong information. Given your suspicion of a faulty chip tune and the reduced power, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose if the chip tuning is indeed messing with the engine's parameters and causing the issue.

Thanks for the info. Turns out it was the chip tuning. Had it removed and the system re-flashed. Cost me 180€, but the Moco is running fine now.

I had something similar with my Moco. Did the dashboard light up? I scanned it with an auto scanner and got a diagnostic code pointing to a sensor issue. It felt like driving with the parking brake on, like the engine was being held back. Check engine light was on solid. Is your light flashing, or is it constant?
