Monza Overheating Slow Warm-Up
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Chevrolet Monza is experiencing overheating and slow engine warm-up. The issue might be related to the thermostat or the coolant system, as there are no apparent coolant leaks and the temperature sensor seems functional. A similar case suggested the map thermostat as a potential cause, which could lead to such cooling issues. It is recommended to have a mechanic inspect the vehicle, focusing on the map thermostat as a likely starting point for resolving the problem.

Interesting! When yours was acting up, were the symptoms pretty much the same – overheating and slow warm-up? And if it was the map thermostat, how much did that set you back? I'm trying to get a sense of what I'm potentially looking at in terms of repair costs.

Yep, those were the exact same symptoms. Overheating and taking forever to warm up. If it is the map thermostat, and in my experience it usually is, you're probably looking at around 350€. I'd say it's probably best to take it to a workshop.

Thanks a bunch! That's super helpful. I'll get it checked out by a mechanic ASAP. Knowing it's likely the map thermostat gives me a good starting point. Really appreciate the insight!

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Monza not too long ago. Was it the thermostat? Could be the map thermostat that's gone bad. Those things can cause all sorts of cooling issues. I wonder if it could also be the thermostat housing?
