Murano Diesel Camshaft Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
The 2011 Nissan Murano diesel is experiencing hard starts, loss of power on acceleration, and an error message, suggesting a potential issue with the camshaft sensor or a bad connection. Similar symptoms in another vehicle were resolved by replacing the camshaft position sensor. After consulting a mechanic, it was confirmed that the camshaft sensor was indeed the problem, and a repair was scheduled.

Thanks! Could you tell me more about the sensor failure you had? How did you figure out that was the problem?

Yes, the error message pointed to the camshaft position sensor. After replacing it, the problem was solved. To be honest, I brought it to a workshop to have it checked and they recommended replacing the sensor. Based on your description of the problem I recommend the same.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to my mechanic, and they confirmed it's the camshaft sensor. Repair will be around 95€. Thanks again for the help!

I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Same symptoms: hard starts, loss of power, and a check engine light. Was it the camshaft position sensor for you too?
