Thanks! No unusual fan noises, but I'll listen more closely. The scanner pointed to the speed sensor, but I'm not sure if that directly controls the fan, or if it's just related. Did you have the same speed sensor error code?

Actually, now that you mention it, the diagnostic indicated a sensor issue... I wasn't deeply involved; I took it straight to a workshop. I wasn't comfortable poking around the cooling system myself. Given the overheating, I'd advise you do the same to avoid potential damage.

Okay, thanks! Sounds safest to get it professionally diagnosed. Sharing my resolution in case it helps someone else: it was indeed the speed sensor that controls the radiator fan speed. Repair cost was around 250€.

Interesting issue. I also have a Murano, though I'm not sure of the year. Overheating and the check engine light – concerning. Any unusual fan noises? Sometimes, a failing fan motor can manifest strangely before causing overheating. Though a faulty speed sensor is also concerning, have you checked the fan motor itself?
