Navara Air Suspension Compressor Failure

Hi, I've got a 2002 Nissan Navara with a gasoline engine and air suspension. Recently, the system seems to have given up. The vehicle won't lift, and it's leaning. I'm also getting an error message and the low beams are all over the place. The codes point to the air suspension compressor. Has anyone else had this issue?

Summary of the thread

A 2002 Nissan Navara with air suspension is experiencing issues with the vehicle not lifting and leaning, accompanied by an error message. The problem is suspected to be related to the air suspension compressor. A potential cause is identified as a defective connection, particularly a corroded pin in the compressor's power connector. The suggested solution is to inspect and clean the connections, and if unresolved, seek professional diagnosis, which ultimately confirmed the corroded connector as the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I had something similar happen on my Navara. Leaning, error lights, the whole shebang. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the compressor? That was the culprit for me. It could be a defective connection, leading to the suspension pump not working.

Thanks for the tip! When you say cable and plug connections, do you mean the main power connector to the compressor, or are there other connectors? I've already checked the fuse, and it seems okay. I'm trying to avoid air leaks or going through the whole suspension system diagnosis if it's just a bad connection.

Yep, I meant the main power connector and any other connectors directly attached to the compressor. In my case, it was a corroded pin in one of the plugs. Given the symptoms, especially the error message, a bad connection is a strong possibility. But to be honest, if you're not comfortable doing electrical troubleshooting, you might want to have a workshop take a look. It's a quick job for them to diagnose with the right tools.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I checked the connections, cleaned them, and still no luck. Took it to the shop as you suggested, and you were spot on - corroded connector causing the compressor to fail. New connector and labor came to 95€. Appreciate the help!
