Nemo Crankshaft Sensor Issue

My 2015 Citroen Nemo diesel is giving me fits. The check engine light is on, and it feels like it's lost a ton of power. It's sluggish, and I swear it's guzzling fuel like crazy. It's got 81585 km on the clock. I scanned it, and it's throwing a 'Crankshaft to Camshaft Reference Value' error. Could this be the crankshaft sensor acting up? It feels like the engine timing is off, like a band playing out of sync. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Citroen Nemo diesel exhibited issues such as a check engine light, power loss, and increased fuel consumption, with a diagnostic error indicating a 'Crankshaft to Camshaft Reference Value' problem. The likely cause was identified as a faulty crankshaft sensor, which affects engine synchronization. After confirming the diagnosis at a workshop, replacing the crankshaft sensor resolved the issues, restoring the vehicle's performance.

I had something similar happen with my Nemo. Same symptoms: check engine light, power loss. I'd check the crankshaft sensor. It controls engine synchronization. When the reference value between the crankshaft and camshaft is off, that sensor is a likely culprit. Could also be the timing chain, but the sensor is easier to check first.

Thanks! So, when you say 'similar', do you mean the crankshaft sensor was definitely the issue for you too? And if so, did you notice if the engine response was slow, or the fuel consumption was high as well? I'm trying to avoid replacing parts that aren't broken.

Yes, that was my exact problem. The poor engine response and higher fuel consumption were definitely there. Before I go any further, though, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop and ask them to confirm the error before replacing anything. It could save you time and money.

Thanks a lot for the tip! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was the crankshaft sensor. They replaced it, and the error is gone, and my Nemo is running smoothly again! Total cost was 340€. Really appreciate the help!
