Nissan Winner incorrect fuel composition error
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Nissan Winner diesel is experiencing a check engine light and stalling at idle, with a diagnostic error indicating incorrect fuel composition. The issue is suspected to be related to fuel contamination, but normal fuel economy suggests otherwise. A suggestion was made to check cable and plug connections, which led to the discovery of a defective cable connection. The problem was resolved at a workshop for a cost of 95€.

Interesting. Which component specifically are you talking about? Is it something easily accessible, or do I need to disassemble half the engine bay?

Hard to say without looking at it, but in my case, it turned out to be a defective plug connection. Honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. My repair cost around 95€ to fix a cable or plug connection. They'll have the diagnostic tools to pinpoint the exact issue faster than you or I could by trial and error.

Thanks for the tip! It was indeed a defective cable connection as you said. Got it sorted at the workshop – cost me 95€ as well. Appreciate the advice!

Incorrect fuel composition, eh? I had a similar problem with my Winner – not sure of the year, but the fuel system was acting up. Did you check the cable and plug connections to the component? It's like a loose wire on a lamp – sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Could be causing bad readings or a short.
