Optra Automatic Transmission Shifting Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Chevrolet Optra with 86,270 km was experiencing automatic transmission issues, including implausible shifting, an illuminated transmission indicator light, rough shifts, and occasional emergency mode activation. The problem was suspected to be caused by undervoltage, but it was suggested to check the transmission oil condition. Upon inspection, the transmission oil was found to be worn out, and a transmission flush resolved the shifting problems.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the oil condition yet, just assumed it was fine since the car isn't that old. Could worn oil really cause all these symptoms, including the emergency mode?

Yes, degraded oil can definitely cause those symptoms, including the emergency mode. That's what was happening with my Cruze. It's like trying to ice skate with butter on your blades. Best to take it to a workshop for a transmission flush and check for any other underlying issues before it gets worse.

Thanks, I appreciate the insight. I'll get it checked out ASAP. You were right: it was the transmission oil. It was worn out. The shop did a transmission flush. The repair cost me 240€. The shifting problems are gone!

Sounds familiar. I had similar shifting problems with my Chevrolet Cruze. Have you checked the transmission oil level and condition? Could be worn out, like trying to run a marathon in flip-flops.
