Thanks for the reply! So, you think it was definitely the voltage sensor? I've been thinking about checking the battery myself, but I'm not super confident. Was it difficult to diagnose the problem?

Yeah, pretty sure it was the voltage sensor. I tried a few things myself, like cleaning the battery terminals, but nothing really worked. Eventually, I caved and took it to a workshop. They ran some vehicle diagnostics and confirmed it. Honestly, unless you're really comfortable with car electrics, I'd suggest getting it checked professionally. It cost me around 315€ to get it sorted, but at least it's fixed now.

Wow, that sounds familiar! I have an Optra too. I had similar problems with the weak starts and flickering lights. Did you get the battery tested? I suspected a voltage sensor issue. I remember checking the battery health with a multimeter, and the values jumped up and down like crazy. It was a real pain!
