Orlando jerking and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Chevy Orlando diesel with 124,000 km was experiencing jerking during acceleration, stalling at idle, rough running, and a strong exhaust smell, accompanied by a check engine light. These issues were linked to a leaking intake manifold caused by scorching, which led to engine misfires and reduced performance. Replacing the intake manifold resolved the problems, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Intake manifold, huh? I haven't checked that specifically. What kind of symptoms did you have with your manifold? Did you notice anything specific?

My symptoms were consistent with a manifold leak, resulting in engine misfires and reduced performance. A diagnostic check revealed faults related to manifold pressure. Given the age of your vehicle, a manifold leak due to scorching is plausible. I would advise a thorough inspection or replacement by a qualified technician.

Thanks for the tip! Took it to the shop and you were spot on. The intake manifold was leaking due to scorching. Got it replaced, cost me 1180€, but it fixed everything. Runs like new again.

I also drive an Orlando. Your symptoms sound similar to an issue I had. Has anyone checked the intake manifold? A scorched manifold can cause those problems, especially the jerking and error codes.
