Orlando Start Stop Issue
Summary of the thread
The start-stop system on a 2016 Chevrolet Orlando diesel was malfunctioning, with the engine shutting off and displaying a warning light. The issue was suspected to be a bad battery, which was confirmed by a workshop diagnosis showing "low battery voltage" errors. Replacing the defective battery resolved the problem, restoring the start-stop system's functionality.

Yes, that's exactly what is happening. The engine cuts out unexpectedly, and the automatic restart seems hesitant at times. Could it be the start-stop system’s car battery? What was the cause of your issue?

Yep, sounds like what I experienced. It's probably the battery. It might be best to have a workshop take a look. They can diagnose the issue properly before you start throwing money at parts.

Thanks for the advice. I visited a local workshop, and after diagnosing the start-stop system they confirmed the battery was defective. The error memory contained "low battery voltage" errors. Replacing the battery resolved the issue, and the start-stop system is now functioning as expected. The repair cost me 290€ Thanks again!

Hey, I have an Orlando too. I had something similar last year. Does the engine cut out randomly, even when you don't expect it to? And does it struggle to automatically restart sometimes?
