Otti ABS Speed Signal Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Nissan Otti is experiencing a speed signal fault, with the ABS lamp lit and traction problems indicating a complete ABS failure. The suspected cause is a defective ABS control unit, as the speedometer is functioning correctly, ruling out sensor issues. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the ABS control unit, suggesting that taking the vehicle to a workshop for repair is the best course of action.

Just those symptoms, really. No other warning lights, no engine issues, just the ABS and traction control kicking in randomly, then eventually failing completely. Does your issue also point to a defective control unit?

Yep, sounds exactly like what I had. After a lot of messing around, I ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the ABS control unit. Bite the bullet and let them fix it to save time, probably the best solution.

Thanks for confirming! It's helpful to know someone else experienced the same thing. I'll take it to a shop as you suggested. They quoted around 1000€ for the repair which looks reasonable, hopefully that fixes it.

Hey, I had something similar happen with my Otti! The ABS light and traction control going haywire sounds familiar. Did you notice any other weird stuff happening, or just those symptoms?
