Pathfinder oil pressure warning
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid owner is experiencing intermittent oil pressure warning lights and loud mechanical noises from the engine, despite the oil level being fine. A clogged oil filter or a defective oil pump are suggested as potential causes. It is recommended to have the vehicle professionally checked to prevent further issues, and the owner confirms a diagnosis of a defective oil pump.

Thanks. I haven't checked the oil filter specifically. If it's clogged, would that consistently trigger the oil pressure warning, or could it be intermittent? Also, what was the diagnosis when you had similar symptoms?

In my case, the light was on more often than off, and the noises were pretty constant. Turned out to be the oil pump. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a professional; could save you bigger problems.

Thank you, that's helpful. I'll skip replacing the oil pressure sensor and take it to a workshop directly. The diagnosis was indeed a defect in the oil pump, and the repair cost came to 755€. Thanks again!

I have a Pathfinder, but not a hybrid. Those symptoms sound familiar. Did you check for a clogged oil filter? That could cause the low pressure and weird noises.
