Pathfinder tire pressure warning
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Nissan Pathfinder is experiencing a persistent 'Tire pressure too low' warning despite correct tire pressure, suggesting a potential issue with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The likely cause is a faulty sensor due to an old or dead battery. The recommended solution is to visit a mechanic to diagnose and replace the faulty sensor, which resolved the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't changed the sensors since I bought the car, so they're quite old. How do I reset the system? I've only been checking the pressure manually.

Given their age, the sensor battery is likely the culprit. Resetting might temporarily clear the error, but it'll probably come back. A workshop visit is probably unavoidable to diagnose and replace the faulty sensor.

Appreciate the insight! I suspected as much. I'll take it to my mechanic next week. They replaced the faulty sensor, apparently, the battery was empty. Cost me 280€ including labor. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds like a TPMS issue. How old are the sensors? They usually have a battery that dies after a while. Have you tried resetting the system after inflating the tires?
