Peugeot 1007 System Readiness Error

I've got a real head-scratcher! It's my 2007 Peugeot 1007, diesel engine, with 72347 km on the clock. I ran an OBD2 diagnostic tool on it, and now I'm getting a 'System readiness check incomplete' error! Plus, there's an irritating error message from the speedometer. Could this all be because of the OBD2 thingy?

Summary of the thread

A 2007 Peugeot 1007 owner experienced a 'System readiness check incomplete' error after using an OBD2 diagnostic tool, along with an error message from the speedometer. This issue likely stemmed from a system reset caused by the OBD2 tool, which left the readiness monitors incomplete. To resolve this, it was suggested to perform an OBD drive cycle or visit a workshop. The workshop cleared the error memory, resolving the issue without cost.

The symptoms you are experiencing, particularly the 'System readiness check incomplete' message after an OBD2 diagnostic readout, are not uncommon. The OBD readiness monitors are designed to evaluate various emission-related systems. An incomplete status indicates that these monitors have not yet completed their tests since the last memory reset. What was the reason for initially performing the OBD2 diagnostics?

I just wanted to check if there were any hidden issues before the next vehicle inspection date. So, does this mean that the exhaust system check cannot run and I will fail the vehicle inspection? What needs to be done to get the system readiness sorted out, before I go to the vehicle inspection?

Indeed, the incomplete readiness status could potentially lead to a failed vehicle inspection, as the exhaust system check relies on these monitors. It appears that you need to perform what's called an OBD drive cycle, which puts your car in a series of specific driving behaviors for particular amounts of time necessary to complete the readiness tests. However, given it happened after a system reset, I would start with an official workshop before doing anything else.

Big thanks for your help! Turns out it was because of the OBD2 reset, just as I suspected. I went to the workshop like you suggested, and they just cleared the error memory. Cost me absolutely nothing, so I'm chuffed to bits! Now the system readiness is fine again! Cheers!
