Peugeot 5008 Camshaft Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Peugeot 5008 with 165,145 km is experiencing starting difficulties, stalling at idle, and a check engine light, suspected to be related to the camshaft sensor or the encoder wheel on the camshafts. The issue is confirmed by a diagnostic code pointing to the camshaft position sensor. A similar case required replacing the encoder wheel after the sensor replacement failed to resolve the problem, suggesting a workshop visit may be necessary for a definitive fix.

Yeah, it's throwing a code related to the camshaft position sensor. Did you end up replacing the sensor itself or was it something else?

I tried replacing the sensor first, but no luck. Eventually, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the encoder wheel. Not cheap, unfortunately.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'm heading to the workshop as well. They've quoted me 695€ for the repair. Hopefully, that sorts it out.

I had something similar happen in my 5008. Is it throwing any specific codes? Mine was a pain to diagnose but the symptoms sound familiar.
