I haven't measured the boost pressure yet. How do I check the intake manifold connections and the turbo boost system? What tools do I need?

Given the symptoms, a faulty boost pressure sensor is likely. You could try to diagnose it yourself, but I'd recommend a professional workshop. You could misdiagnose it and damage something. It could take a while. Better to let someone experienced handle it.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a Peugeot technician. The boost pressure sensor was the problem. The repair, including the sensor and labor, cost 95€.

I had similar symptoms in my 508, not sure of the year though. The jerking, whistling, and power loss make me think it's an air intake problem, maybe the turbocharger. Have you checked the intake manifold for cracks or loose connections? It could be the boost sensor, but have you measured the actual boost pressure compared to what it should be?
