Peugeot 807 Climate Control Problems

My 2006 Peugeot 807 diesel's climate control panel has gone completely bonkers. I'm getting an error, the heating is pathetic, and the AC refuses to work. I've checked the fuses, all good, but haven't dug too deep yet. Mileage is 171836 km. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

The 2006 Peugeot 807 diesel's climate control panel was malfunctioning, displaying errors, with ineffective heating and non-functional AC. After checking the fuses, the issue was suspected to be a faulty electrical connection. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a defective cable or plug connection. The solution involved professional repair, which identified and fixed a corroded connector on the climate control unit, restoring functionality.

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Saab 9-3 – climate control throwing a fit. It turned out to be a dodgy electrical connector causing havoc. Symptoms were almost identical – error codes, weak heating, and AC playing hide-and-seek. It could be worth checking the cable and plug connections to the climate control unit itself.

Interesting! Where exactly did you find the faulty connector on your Saab? Was it easily accessible, or did you have to dismantle half the dashboard? Any specific areas on the 807 climate control system I should be focusing on, like a particular temperature sensor or wiring harness?

On the Saab, it was behind the central console, a real pain to get to. I'd recommend against tearing things apart yourself though. From your description and error codes, a defective cable or plug connection is a likely cause. Since you mention low heat output in addition to the AC issue, it's probably worth getting a professional opinion. I ended up at a workshop, and they fixed the contact problem on my Saab within 1.5 hours, costing around 100€ - probably the right thing to do to avoid making things worse.

Thanks for the insight! I appreciate the cautious advice. I ended up taking it to a local shop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a corroded connector on the climate control unit. 95€ later, everything is working perfectly again. Thanks for steering me in the right direction!
