Prisma stalling at idle
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Chevrolet Prisma is experiencing stalling at idle and a check engine light, potentially due to a fuel tank ventilation leak. The issue is suspected to be linked to a defective activated charcoal filter, especially noticeable after refueling. The problem affects the emission control system and can be confirmed using leak detection tools at a workshop. Repairing the charcoal filter is suggested as a solution.

Yeah, now that you mention it, it seems to happen more often right after filling the tank. How did you figure out the charcoal filter was the problem?

For me, it was a process of elimination, but the symptoms match perfectly. It's the emission control system acting up. Think of it like a clogged artery in your car's breathing system. Best to get it checked at a workshop; they have leak detection tools to confirm. I ended up paying around 275€ for the repair.

Thanks for the info! Seems like it is most likely the charcoal filter. I'll take it to the shop.

I had something similar with my Prisma. Check engine light and stalling, sounds familiar. Is it worse after you fill up the gas tank? Could be a defective activated charcoal filter causing air flow problems, like trying to breathe through a straw. Definitely impacts fuel efficiency, like burning money!
