Problems with air conditioning and heating in Seat Toledo Diesel 2007

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Seat Toledo Diesel, built in 2007. The air conditioning is only blowing warm air and it also seems as if the heating/cooling is no longer working properly. I suspect that it may be due to a faulty signal from the ambient temperature sensor. Have any of you had similar experiences? If so, how did you get the problem solved in the workshop? I would be grateful for any tips!

Summary of the thread

A 2007 Seat Toledo Diesel is experiencing issues with the air conditioning, which only blows warm air, and the heating/cooling system seems faulty. The suspected cause is a faulty signal from the ambient temperature sensor. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a defective sensor or cable connection. It is suggested to have a fault diagnosis performed at a workshop to identify and resolve the problem, potentially involving a sensor or cable repair.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hello, sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Seat Leon, built in 2005. I don't know much about cars, but I am a bit tech-savvy. The garage mechanic said it had something to do with a defective sensor. They said the problem was the cable connection from the sensor. I had to pay about 95 euros just for the repair. After that, everything ran smoothly again. It could be that you have the same problem. Could you perhaps have the fault diagnosed in a workshop? And could you provide more information about the car? What is the mileage? That might help. Good luck, hopefully it's not serious. Best regards!

Hi, it's interesting to hear that you've had similar experiences. My car has already done around 184570 km and it's been a while since my last service, so it can actually affect any part. Thanks for the tip about the garage. Maybe I should have a fault diagnosis done. Your answer really helped, thank you very much! Best regards!

Hey, glad I could help! With 184570 km on the speedometer, it can certainly affect one or the other part. You should really have the sensor or the cable connection checked. Depending on how long it's been since the last service, a complete check might not be a bad idea either. And don't worry, the repair costs are usually manageable, at least that's how it was for me. But if you have a fault diagnosis carried out, you already know what you're dealing with. I hope it won't be too expensive and that your Seat will soon be fit again! Best wishes and good luck!

Hi, thank you very much for your encouraging words! Yes, you're right, a comprehensive check might not be a bad idea. I had hoped I could avoid it, but a Seat has its pitfalls. I've now made an appointment to diagnose the fault and hopefully it's just the sensor or the cable connection as you suggest. Thanks again for your tip and the encouraging words! Best regards!
