Thanks for your answer, that's helpful to know. My Renault has already done a decent 147404 km and the last service was about six months ago. Perhaps I really should have the workshop check the control unit. Apart from that, the engine has always done its job so far, so I can't complain. I'll have to look up the chassis number first. I just hope the repair won't be too expensive. Thanks again for your help!

No problem, man! With the mileage your Renault has, it's no wonder a few little things pop up here and there. Last time I had a similar fault, the guys at the garage ran a diagnostic on the whole system. They tested the ECU and found that it was indeed the problem. Maybe they could do a similar check on yours? It does cost, but it's worth it to me for the peace of mind. And it could actually be causing the high consumption too. Don't forget that it's definitely better to have a professional do it if you're unsure. Even if it ends up being a bit more expensive, remember: safety first! I hope this helps you and good luck with the repair!

Great, thanks for the tip! I'm really going to think about taking the little one to the garage and having the control unit checked. Safety really is the most important thing, especially when the car has a few more kilometers on the clock. I was already annoyed by the high fuel costs anyway. And who knows, maybe I'll find out why it won't start. So thank you again for your help, you've really helped me!

Hey, I recently had a similar problem with my 2014 Renault Trafic Diesel. I'm not a car expert, but I've already had some experience with minor issues with my car. After a few days of flickering and high fuel consumption, I finally went to the garage. They discovered that the control unit was broken. That also cost me 1000.00 euros. Unfortunately, I can't tell you any more about this as my knowledge is limited. Perhaps you could give me a little more information about your engine, chassis number or something similar? That way I could try to help you better. Don't forget that it's always advisable to consult a specialist if you're not 100% sure. Good luck with that!
