Qashqai engine misfires and jerking

My 2009 Nissan Qashqai (gasoline engine) is having trouble. It's only done 38516 km. The check engine light is on, and the engine runs very rough. I also notice jerking when accelerating and a significant reduction in engine power. I'm not very knowledgeable about car mechanics. Could it be a spark plug or fuel pump issue?

Combustion misfires can trigger those symptoms. Have you scanned the ECU for error codes? A defective ignition coil could also be the cause. What codes are you getting?
