RAV4 Engine Knocking Sound

I'm experiencing a troubling issue with my 2017 Toyota RAV4, gasoline engine, with approximately 99385 kilometers on it. Lately, I've noticed a distinct knocking sound coming from the engine, almost like knocking combustion. Alongside this, the car seems to have reduced engine power, and it jerks noticeably when accelerating. To make matters worse, I've also observed some smoke puffing out during acceleration. I checked the car's computer and an error is stored in the error memory. Could this be a case of dreaded piston slap?

Well, deposits in the combustion chamber can definitely mess with the combustion process, leading to knocking and reduced power. Without proper equipment, it's tough to verify yourself. Might be time to visit a workshop.

You were right. I took it to the workshop, and they confirmed it was heavy deposits in the combustion chamber. They cleaned it all out, and it's running smoothly now. Total repair cost was 425€ Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
