RCZ starting and cruise control issues
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Peugeot RCZ is experiencing starting issues, a blank gear selection display, and non-functional cruise control. The suspected cause is a faulty clutch pedal switch, possibly due to a dodgy cable or plug. Suggestions include checking the wiring harness for brittleness or cracks and ensuring the switch and its connector are properly seated. If these checks don't resolve the issue, taking the car to a workshop is recommended for further diagnosis.

Thanks for the tip. Wiring looks okay at first glance, but I'll give it a more thorough check this weekend. When you say 'switch properly seated', do you mean physically in place, or something more technical, like properly calibrated?

I meant physically in place, but also that the connector is properly seated on the switch. Make sure it clicks in and doesn't come loose. However, seeing as you've got multiple electrical gremlins, like the gear selection issue, it might be best to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop if you don't find anything obvious. Could be more than just a loose connection.

Yeah, that's probably the right call. Gave the wiring a good once-over and nothing obvious jumped out. Time to get it on a lift, I guess. Thanks for your help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Saab, though the symptoms weren't quite identical. The clutch switch on that was a real pain. Did the same thing – wouldn't start occasionally, and the cruise control packed it in. Have you checked the wiring harness around the switch itself? They can get brittle and crack, especially near heat sources. Also, is the switch properly seated? I doubt it, but worth checking out before something worse happens.
