Rifter Fuel Flap Issue
Summary of the thread
The owner of a 2020 Peugeot Rifter is experiencing a malfunction with the fuel flap release, which is not functioning and has caused some vehicle functions to be unavailable. The issue is suspected to be due to a defective electric actuator or linkage. Suggested solutions include checking the fuses, attempting a hard reset by disconnecting the battery, and ultimately visiting a workshop for a proper diagnostic. The workshop confirmed the problem as a defective electric actuator, which was repaired for 210€.

Thank you for your advice. I have attempted using the key fob and the manual release, both without success. I have also checked the fuses related to central locking, but not specifically to the fuel flap. Could you please elaborate on where I might locate a fuse dedicated to the fuel flap mechanism?

Okay, so the key fob and manual release are dead. That really points to a more serious electrical issue or a jammed actuator. Honestly, trying to trace down a dedicated fuse for just the fuel flap is going to be like searching for a needle in a haystack, especially since the wiring diagrams for those systems can be all over the place. Given that other vehicle functions are also affected, I strongly recommend taking it to a reputable workshop with Peugeot diagnostic equipment. They'll be able to pinpoint the exact fault and avoid you chasing shadows.

I appreciate your thorough explanation. Based on your recommendation, I visited a workshop. The diagnostic confirmed a defective electric actuator. The repair, including parts and labor, amounted to 210€. Thank you again for your assistance.

Sounds like a pain! It’s probably the electric actuator giving up the ghost. Think of it like a tiny little motor that's just plain worn out. Have you tried using the key fob to trigger the release, or manually actuating it from inside the car (if your model has that feature)? Could be an electrical fault somewhere in the system, but it's hard to say without a proper diagnostic. Have you checked the relevant fuses? Before I took it to a garage, I'd try a hard reset - disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and see if that clears any gremlins.
