Hissing sounds, huh? I haven't specifically listened for that. Where exactly should I be listening around the intake manifold? Is it easy to spot the scorching you mentioned?

With my Volvo it was very difficult to spot. I wasn't able to notice anything, and I took it to the workshop. It definitely sounds like that could be the problem given the stored error in the error memory, the jerking and the loss of power. Better take it to a pro, those symptoms aren't getting better!

Thanks. I appreciate the insight. I took it to the shop, and you were spot on! The intake manifold was leaking due to scorching. Cost me 1180€ to repair, but at least it's running right again. Thanks for the help!

That sounds rough! I had similar symptoms with my old Volvo. Check engine light, rough running, loss of power. Turned out to be a gasket leak in the air intake. Could be worth investigating if it's a similar issue. Have you noticed any hissing sounds?
