S90 electric seat malfunction

A 2018 Volvo S90 diesel's passenger electric seat malfunctioned, displaying an error message and failing to adjust. The issue was suspected to be linked to a defective battery, which had been heavily discharged the previous winter. It was suggested to check the seat wiring and battery condition. Seat wiring... where should I be looking? Is it easily accessible or do I need to dismantle half the car? Could a dodgy battery mess with the electric seats like that?

The wiring runs under the seat. If the battery was heavily discharged, it could cause such electrical gremlins. Have the battery checked first, but I think you should let a workshop take a look. They'll diagnose it properly.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a shop, and you were spot on – practically the same issue! The battery was defective, and it messed with the seat's control module. Cost me 290€, but at least it's fixed!

That's a familiar problem. I have an S90 as well. Did you check the seat wiring? Maybe a loose connection or damaged wire?
