Saxo AC and Temperature Sensor Issue

My 2001 Citroen Saxo with a gasoline engine is acting up! I think it's the temperature sensor heat exchanger. The error memory has a fault, a message pops up on the speedometer, and the AC won't turn on. I've checked fuses and connections. Could this be a big problem? Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2001 Citroen Saxo with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues with the temperature sensor and AC, indicated by a fault message on the speedometer and non-functional AC. Initial checks of fuses and connections did not resolve the problem. A similar case suggested the AC control unit might be the cause, which was confirmed by a mechanic, leading to a successful repair.

Sounds familiar. I had the same symptoms on my Saxo. It wasn't the sensor but the AC control unit.

That's interesting! I hadn't thought of the AC control unit. What happened with yours? Did you have sensor calibration issues, or other weird HVAC behavior besides the AC?

Yeah, it was the AC control unit. Replaced it, and everything was normal. Given the symptoms and error codes, I'd suggest a workshop look at it. It could save you time troubleshooting.

Thank you! I brought it to a mechanic, and the AC control unit was the problem! The repair was about 980€, but it's working now. I appreciate you sharing your experience!
