Hey, it's good to hear back from you! Unsurprisingly, our cars seem to be telling the same tale, huh? Well, regarding the monetary damage, it was pretty reasonable. I had to part with 155€ to get the bloody IAT sensor fixed. I know it's a bit of a hit, but trust me, it was worth every cent considering how swiftly my Duster bounced back. And to answer your second question, ever since that little trip to the grease monkeys, I've had no issues - none at all. The Duster has been just peachy, no more power drops, no more jerks on acceleration, and she's not drinking fuel like a sailor on shore leave anymore. It's all been smooth driving proving that the culprit was indeed that faulty integrating air temperate sensor. I'd say take a deep breath and put your car in the hands of a mechanic. Hey! I've got a 2016 Dacia Duster, so we're on the same boat brand-wise. Had an eerily similar situation a while back, check engine light, poor mileages and rocky engine operation, the works. Turns out it was my intake air temperature (IAT) sensor on the fritz, quite like your suspicion. Yes, it was a bit of an issue for me. If the IAT sensor is defective, it can send wrong signals to the car's computer, causing imbalances in the engine's performance. Mine was making my car over consume fuel, dash went a bit nuts and the car was acting sluggish, sort of like you're describing. Quick trip down to my local garage and they went through the whole diagnostics process. End result: busted IAT sensor. Swapped it out for a new one and it was all smooth sailing afterwards. The car was back to its normal self, no power losses, no jerky accelerations and, most importantly, lesser fuel consumption. I can't guarantee that your issue is down to the IAT sensor, but it was in my case. So yeah, take a trip to your garage and share your suspicion about the IAT to them; could save you a bit of trouble. Good luck!
