Hey there, Wow, your experience sounds eerily like what I'm dealing with right now. Fuel injectors, huh? That's definitely a concern, but at least it gives me a starting point. I totally agree about getting this sorted ASAP, don't want my engine to cop a beating. Out of curiosity, do you remember roughly how much you ended up coughing up to fix those fuel injectors on your '14 Fiat Punto? And has anything else decided to play up since they've been sorted out? Cheers!
Hey, sweet relief, ain't it, to get to a potential answer? I remember the feeling. Regarding the budget part, yeah it did cost me, but I had no choice as it's not something you can keep on the back burner. The price tag was a bit north of what I wanted: 515€ to be precise for those dodgy injectors. It was a bit of a pinch, but once done, it was like giving my '14 Fiat Punto wings to fly again. Just totally sorted out the rough running engine. And to answer your other question, since the visit to the mechanic, knock on wood, everything’s been smooth sailing. No more weird smells or reduced power. So, expensive, but worth every cent if you ask me. Stay safe and I hope your Palio gets sorted quickly. Good luck!
Hey back, Yup, a potential answer indeed feels like a gulp of fresh air. I see what you mean about the budget; it does sound a pinch heavy, but I guess that's the price you pay for the smooth running of your car. €515.00... well, let's tighten the belt for a bit then. Can't explain how relieved I am to hear that no other issues have popped up for you after the fix. Really hoping it's the same for my '17 Fiat Palio. Fingers crossed! Thanks a ton! I really appreciate your advice. Time to get the old girl back in shape. Here's hoping she flies again with no other problems, just like your Punto. Safe travels!
Hey, sounds real familiar. Had a similar ordeal with my '14 Fiat Punto. Started acting up around 110k km. Symptoms match yours - constant check engine light, reduced power, increased fuel consumption, idling was atrocious and that rich, BBQ-like smell. Turned out, the culprit was the fuel injectors. They failed on me, causing all those symptoms. You definitely hit the nail on the head - it was a rough engine run all the way. It's a significant issue; injectors play a crucial role in ensuring your fuel is delivered accurately for combustion. When they're not in shape, well, you get the picture. Hence, please don't ignore these signs. Acting promptly can prevent more severe damage to your engine. Now, I'm not saying it's definitely injectors, but it does smell a lot like my case. Take it to a trusted mechanic - they'll likely run a diagnostic test on the injectors, among other things. Usually, they've got to either repair or replace them. Good luck, and I hope it turns out alright!
