Summary of the thread
A 2013 Hyundai i30 owner is experiencing a failure in the gear selection display and a warning light issue. Hey, thanks for the tip! I'll definitely have it checked out. As for more info, my i30 has clocked up about 51207 kilometers and I haven't had any major services or repairs recently. Let's hope it's something as manageable as the cable connection problem you had. Cheers for your help!

Hey, no worries on offering the advice! I'm just sharing from my own experience. With the mileage you've on your i30, such services or replacements aren't that uncommon to see. 51K kilometers though, you did pretty well before having this kind of trouble. Just remember, while it's likely that it could be a similar issue to mine, it might be something different. No harm getting a diagnostic check in a workshop. It'll give a solid answer to the problem and most times, it won't cost an arm and leg. Anyway, hope you get your i30 sorted out soon nothing more annoying than a persistent light on the dash! Keep us posted on how it goes, yeah? Good luck!

Cheers bud, I sure will! Your input certainly helped me feel a bit better about this. Will head over to the workshop first thing tomorrow for a diagnostic. Hey there, had a very similar issue on my 2011 Hyundai Elantra a while back. I'm not a car guru, just have a bit of car experience. I took mine to a local workshop. Turned out the culprit was a defective cable connection/plug to the clutch switch. They sorted it out for me, cost around 95 Euro. Don't take my word as gospel though, might be a diff problem for you, but worth having a look at. Could you give more info on your car though? Need stuff like mileage, any maintenance done recently, etc. That would help give a more on-point advice. Cheers.
