Alarm system malfunctions

Hey there! Just reading about your past escapade with the ol' Lexus GS got me thinking - sounds eerily alike to my current predicament. Appreciate you shedding some light on this, might just save my sanity, and wallet. Just out of curiosity, do ya recall how much that battery replacement set you back, ballpark? And since you've had it swapped, has there been any other surprise issues that cropped up? Always good to know what I might be in for. Thanks again.
Hey, good to hear from you again! So about your question on the cost, I had to fork out around 330€ to get the old battery replaced. Not the cheapest repair, but it sure beat a car ghost playing tricks at unusual times, eh? Since that problem, my Lexus GS has been running without a hitch. Notably, the troubles with the alarm system got solved. Turns out the additional battery in the anti-theft alarm was dodgy, but that got fixed when I saw the mechanic. So, I'd definitely recommend you do a check on that alongside the main one. So far, no nasty surprises on the horizon! Best of luck with your RC. Here's hoping for a smooth ride ahead!
Hey! Your input has been a real lifeline, trust me. That price tag of 330€ stings, but yeah, you're spot-on - still beats chasing after phantom alarm issues. Plus, knowing it sorted your alarm woes brings some comfort. I'm gonna go ahead and get both the main and the auxiliary batteries checked, couldn't hurt, right? And if it’s a one-and-done deal, all the better! Thanks again for all your help. Will update you lot on how things pan out. Cheers, and here's hoping for that smooth ride!
Hey! I believe I can help you as I previously dealt with a similar battery problem in my 2012 Lexus GS. The culprit turned out to be a discharged battery due to aging. Classic symptoms - erratic alarms, blinking dashboard lights, you name it. Took it to my regular mechanic, and he diagnosed the problem in no time. Now, it's not a sign of pending catastrophe, but it's essential to address. They ended up replacing the old battery with a new one. It's a standard procedure, really. Sorted the problem right out and my car's been running smoothly ever since. Checking out your auxiliary alarm battery might not be a bad idea, but it's worth going over the main battery first. Best of luck!
