Seeking Solutions for 2023 Seat Tarraco Ignition Key Hall Sensor Issues and Start-up Problems

Hey folks! I'm having some weird issues with my 2023 Seat Tarraco with a Gasoline engine. The speedometer's acting up with a warning light, I'm having lock/unlock problems, and on top of that, it won't start at all. I'm suspecting it might be due to a faulty Ignition key Hall sensor. Has anyone else experienced this buggy behavior? Any tips on how you figured it out or got it fixed by a mechanic? Awaiting your suggestions. Thanks!

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Seat Tarraco owner is experiencing issues with the speedometer, warning lights, lock/unlock functions, and starting the vehicle. The suspected cause is a faulty ignition key Hall sensor. A similar issue in a 2021 Seat Leon was resolved by addressing an insertion slot defect, suggesting this might be a potential cause. The recommended solution is to consult a trusted mechanic for diagnosis and possibly a full inspection, considering the vehicle's mileage.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey there! I reckon I've had a similar quirky issue with my 2021 Seat Leon. As I have some experience with car maintenance, I drove it to my local workshop. They diagnosed an insertion slot defect. The bill for fixing this came around 290.00 Euro. The way I see it, your Tarraco might be facing the same issue. Can't be sure without the car details though. Mind sharing more info about your vehicle?

Hey! Appreciate you taking the time to answer and sharing your experience with me. Well, my Tarraco has driven about 127745 KM up till now. Its last service was done in 2023. I love this ride and want it to be back in action. By the way, the cost you mentioned doesn't seem too bad if it resolves the problem. Thanks again for the tip!

Hey, no problem at all! We're all here to help each other out, right? Since your Tarraco has a decent amount of mileage on it, it's quite likely that it could be experiencing similar issues to my Leon. That said, I'm not an expert, but you know, I've seen this kind of stuff before. I think your best shot would be to take her to a trusted mechanic. Describe the issue to them just like you did here, and mention the possibility of an insertion slot defect. Since the last service was in 2023, they might also want to do a full inspection, just to make sure nothing else is going awry. Hope you get your baby up and running again soon! Remember, spending a bit to keep her in top shape will save you more in the long run. Good luck!

Hey! Absolutely, we need to support each other. My heart feels a lot lighter hearing your advice. I'll definitely do as you suggested. Finding a trusted mechanic is on top of my list now. A full inspection sounds like a good idea too, considering the mileage. It's worth spending a little extra to keep her purring. Fingers crossed, wish me luck. Thanks a ton! You've been a huge help!
