Silverado AC Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Chevy Silverado diesel experienced a complete failure of the AC system, with the AC warning light on and only hot air blowing. An error code indicated an issue with the refrigerant compressor, but the compressor was not engaging. A similar case suggested that the problem might be a faulty AC control unit, which was confirmed upon professional diagnosis and subsequently repaired, restoring the AC functionality.

I didn't see any obvious leaks, but I'm no expert. Where exactly should I be looking? Could it be something else besides a leak if the compressor isn't even turning on?

If the compressor isn't engaging, yeah, it could be something else. Mine turned out to be a faulty AC control unit. The error code was related to the compressor, but the unit itself was preventing it from turning on. I'd suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop; these new AC systems are too complicated to just guess.

Thanks! That's super helpful. I took it to a shop, and you were spot-on – it was the AC control unit. Cost me 980€ to get it fixed, but at least I have cold air again. Appreciate the help!

Dude, I had almost the exact same thing happen on my Silverado. Same symptoms – no cold air, warning light. Did you check for any obvious refrigerant leaks?
