Silverado AdBlue Tank Empty Error
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Chevy Silverado diesel displayed an error indicating the AdBlue tank was empty, despite being full, leading to a no-start condition. The issue was suspected to be related to the AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit. A suggestion was made to check the tank capacity sensor, which is often integrated with the AdBlue pump unit. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be with the AdBlue output, and a repair at a workshop resolved the issue.

Tank capacity sensor... hadn't thought of that. Where is that located, and is it something I can check myself without specialized tools?

On the Q7, it was integrated with the AdBlue pump unit inside the tank, which meant dropping the tank to get to it. Given the symptoms, it's highly likely that is the issue, or some other issue inside the tank, especially if you are sure that it is full. At this point, you should probably take it to a workshop.

Yep, you called it. Took it to the shop, and it was indeed the AdBlue output from the tank. 250€ later, and it's fixed. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue with my old Audi Q7. Kept getting a DEF fluid warning even after filling it up. Could it be the injection system acting up? Did you check the tank capacity sensor?
