Silverado diesel engine running lean
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Chevrolet Silverado diesel is experiencing issues with running lean, reduced engine power, a check engine light, and rough acceleration at 170,000 kilometers. Initial attempts to resolve the issue by cleaning the mass air flow sensor and inspecting the throttle body were unsuccessful. The problem was ultimately traced to faulty fuel injectors, which were replaced, resolving the issue.

I haven't checked the air-fuel ratio specifically, but I'll look into that. Fuel consumption seems a bit higher than usual. What was the problem with your BMW?

Definitely check that air-fuel ratio. For my BMW, it was faulty fuel injectors. The mechanic said they were causing the engine to run lean, just like yours. I'd recommend getting it checked out by a good workshop. Could save you headaches.

I took it to a shop, and you were spot on – it was the fuel injectors! They replaced the defective injection valve, and everything is running smoothly again. Cost me 515€, but at least it's fixed!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old 2016 BMW 3 series diesel. Same symptoms – check engine light, rough running, and power loss. Did you check your air-fuel ratio readings? Have you noticed any changes in fuel consumption?
