Silverado parking aid fault
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Chevy Silverado with a diesel engine is experiencing a parking aid fault, with the parking assistant not functioning. The issue is suspected to be a faulty connection, possibly involving the wiring harness that connects various sensors to the control module. It is suggested to visually inspect the harness along the rear bumper for obvious damage, but a professional diagnosis is recommended to accurately identify and resolve the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! No specific sensor mentioned, just the general parking aid malfunction. Where is that wiring harness located? Is it something I can check myself, or am I better off taking it in?

Okay, since it's a general fault, it could be a corroded connector. The harness runs along the rear bumper, so you can visually inspect it. However, without knowing exactly which sensor is causing the issue, you're probably better off having a shop diagnose it properly before you start tearing things apart. It might save you some headache.

Appreciate the advice! I'll take a look at the harness for any obvious damage, but I'll probably book it in for a proper diagnosis. It was just a defective plug connection and costed me 95€ to fix.

I had something similar happen on my Silverado. Was the error pointing to a specific sensor or just a general fault? Could be related to the wiring harness that connects the proximity sensors, radar sensors, and blind spot sensors to the control module.
