Skoda Octavia Electronic Parking Brake Problem
Summary of the thread
The electronic parking brake on a 2015 Skoda Octavia was non-functional, with an error stored in the memory and a warning light on the speedometer. The suspected cause was a defective electric motor in the brake calliper. Suggestions included checking the brake switch, brake sensor, and wiring to the calliper. Ultimately, a workshop confirmed the issue was indeed a defective electric motor in the brake calliper, which was repaired.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't noticed any issues with the ABS light, just the parking brake warning. Where exactly is the brake sensor located, and is it difficult to access?

If it's only the parking brake light, then it probably is the calliper motor. The sensor is integrated. You could try checking the wiring to the calliper, but honestly, it sounds like you need a new motor, or even the whole calliper. I would suggest getting it checked out at a workshop.

I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the electric motor in the brake calliper was defective. The repair cost came to about 505€. It's sorted now.

Sounds like a similar issue I had with my Octavia. I'd check the brake switch and brake sensor first. Have you had any issues with the ABS warning light as well?
