Skoda Rapid Audio System Failure
Summary of the thread
The 2008 Skoda Rapid experienced a complete audio system failure, including navigation, with diagnostics indicating a MOST bus fault. The MOST bus is a fiber optic network connecting audio and navigation components, and a failure in any component can disrupt the entire system. The issue was resolved by replacing a faulty control unit within the MOST bus network, restoring the audio system's functionality.

Thanks for the advice. Where exactly is the MOST bus located, and how would I go about checking it without specialized tools?

The MOST bus connects the audio and navigation components. It's not really something you can easily diagnose without proper tools. I ended up taking mine to a workshop; they used car diagnostics to pinpoint the faulty unit. It's likely a defect in one of the control units installed in the bus network.

Got it sorted. The MOST bus was the problem. Replacing a control unit cost me 1000€, but at least the audio system works now.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia. Check the MOST bus network. It's a fiber optic ring, and if one component fails, the whole system goes down. Have you tried checking the fuses?
